Hello, CottonwoodValley! Welcome to the Unclaimed Meadow!
This lovely paradise is where unclaimed horses travel when they are in a certain mood of finding a home. But be warned, they won't accept just any old group. They are picky. Any herd considering vying for their attention will need to show that they are the best choice. Will it be your band of horses?
How it works
15 mares and 15 stallions are pulled from the mares and bachelors folders.
You draw or write the horse of your choice, interacting with your herd, and RNG will decide whether or not said horse decides your herd is the best.
NOTE: This event is set in place when the unclaimed folders become overpopulated. Our hope is that this brings in more claims until the point where we are back to a normal number for both Bachelors and Mares. But because this is tied to population, it may close from time to time if the numbers are better again.
NOTE: Foals will not be apart of this.
Special Horse of the Month:
There are certain horses that are rarer than others. IE breed horses, horses from events, horses with mutations, etc. These horses, if left unclaimed, are not placed in the usual unclaimed folders and are instead placed in the "Special UM" folder. At the beginning of the month, the UM admin will choose one horse among the special horses to go into the UM batch for that month. Members are to "try out" for the horse in a separate queue, and at the end of the month, RNG will decide which member among those who tried out the special horse will go to.
Limited Companions:
These companions will be of Predator or Exotic-type. This part of the UM only occurs when a companion is available for rehoming, so be on the lookout! The way to claim them is very similar to the special horse of the month.
Rules:

You will have to submit an art piece or a literature piece depicting at least one of your owned horses and the claimable horse of your choice.

MINIMUM ART REQUIREMENTS: A Colored, Fullbody, with background [Both the horse you are trying out for and the horse you own must be fullbody].

MINIMUM LITERATURE REQUIREMENTS: 500 words

One entry per user, not herd.

You will have a 24-hour cooldown from the time of the admin reply, not your comment to the journal.

If you want to try again, either for the same horse or a different horse, wait 24 hours, and please reply to the featured comment.

One claimable horse per claim attempt.

Each entry will have a 50% chance of success.

All entries must be Feather/Item rolls only. This is to make sure we don't overload the rollers.

After a month, any horses still left on this page will be put back into the unclaimed folder, and a new batch will be rolled and placed in the journal.

Once you have successfully claimed two of the horses, you will not be able to claim a third one and will have to wait for the next month. (You may end up claiming three per month if you tried out for the special horse).

Unclaimed horses of the month
Here they are! Some of these horses may have cool hidden things, so be vigilant. Defects, mutations, foals, pregnancies, and lineages are things you should look out for. Especially pay attention to the lineages to avoid inbreeding

Limited Companion of the Month
The rules are the same as with the unclaimed horses above, however you will have to bribe the companion to stay with your herd, so you must have 2700 feathers in your tracker(s) at the time of entry. If you do not, an admin will delete your comment. If you win, you will go and fill out the companion form in the FM as usual, but be sure to include the comment given to you saying you won! Your feathers will be taken out then.
